Vision and Mission
OUR VISION
Our vision is to be a multiethnic, multigenerational body of believers impacting our community with the love of Christ and reflecting the Body of Christ in all its diversity.
OUR MISSION
To make and deepen disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of ourselves, our community, and the world.
ACCESSIBILITY
We believe all people are precious in God’s sight and should not be hindered in worshiping God. Therefore we have made our facility accessible and we offer gluten-free communion and hearing devices.
WHAT WE BELIEVE

As people brought together by our common faith in Jesus Christ, we celebrate and proclaim Jesus’ life-transforming Good News through the example set forth in the Book of Acts:
-
Studying the teachings of Scripture and supporting one another.
-
Reaching out to the world with the message and hope of abundant life through Jesus Christ.
-
Encouraging and uplifting others through prayer.
-
Remembering our Lord through His Holy Sacraments.
-
Caring and supporting one another in fellowship and love.
We are a congregation of persons who believe in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and as the Savior of the world.
We are pilgrims on a journey and we recognize that we are all at different points on that journey. We welcome those who are honestly seeking God and striving for a closer walk with God. We wrestle through issues together and encourage questions and dialogue.
Our faith is founded on our belief in Jesus Christ, whom we affirm as the Son of God and therefore Lord of our lives. We accept the Bible, both the Old and the New Testaments, as the Word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine, and conduct.
We believe that all people stand in need of a Savior, and that God Himself, out of His great love for humanity, came into our world in the Person of Jesus Christ to be our Savior. Our salvation, then, is based on our faith in Jesus Christ and not in any merit of our own.
We also believe that God’s love extends to whole persons, body, soul, and spirit, and that the blessings we receive are not meant for us alone, but are meant to be shared. To that end, we give ourselves in service to our community. Our members will be found volunteering at the food bank, Youth Dynamics, Lunch on Us providing food to those in need and any other avenue where the love of Christ can be tangibly expressed.
Our response to denominational differences
United Methodist Churches operate with a Bishop overseeing all matters of church life. Evangelical Covenant Churches are managed by the local congregation with accountability to the regional and national offices. We originally merged in 1974 and our Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation define how we operate as and how we relate to the two denominations.

In 2024, these two denominations became in conflict with each other regarding concerns of LGBTQ+ marriage and ordination. We seek to determine our own path in relationship to the LGBTQ+ community. Please refer to our full position statement at this link:
